The egg hunt in April was an incredible outreach event as we welcomed people from the larger community. It was estimated that we had over 70 children plus their families. Everyone is appreciating the Welcoming Team on Sunday’s with a greeter at the main door. Our R2V2 (the second round of R2V) groups have now met four times. They are building community, as they meet in one another’s homes and at local restaurants and a lot of ideas are bubbling up to create a “culture of invitation.” The original team attended a seminar the end of April and continues to meet regularly to “check the pulse” of the overall process and to formulate plans for the next step. At our annual meeting in February, we estimated that our members have invested over 800 hours in the R2V initiative thus far.
In the coming month, our small groups will conclude their discussion of Unbinding the Gospel . The next step is to embark upon the 40 Days of Prayer. The entire R2V2 group will meet Saturday morning, June 4th to launch the 40 Days, to review the ideas that have emerged from these groups. Many have commented about a feeling a new spirit. May the Spirit of God continue to breathe new creative energies, new life, new hope and new possibilities as we strengthen our relationship with God and with one another.
