CHILDREN'S MUSIC COORDINATOR - JOB DESCRIPTION
QUALIFICATIONS:

Faithful follower of Jesus Christ, able to
provide spiritual leadership

Love of music and children

Music education with an emphasis on vocal and
choral technique

Experience in directing and conducting
children's choral ensembles

Flexible and supportive of special needs of each
worship experience

Experience in classroom management

Sense of humor
REPORTS TO: Music Director; relates to Worship Core and Designated
Pastor(s)
SUPERVISES: No other
personnel
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Recruit
children to participate in the music program by inviting them to
participate and communicate rehearsal times.
- Coordinate
all rehearsal and performance schedules (for music groups to include Prayze Kids, SONbeams, and Cherubs);
accompany all groups and/or arrange for the accompaniment
- Oversee
music choices and rehearsal schedules
- Coordinate
choral selections with the Music Director and the Pastors (according to the theme of the
Scripture or service)
- A
children's ensemble is to perform monthly during worship or ten times
during the program year (September through May), which includes the
Christmas and special program, as coordinated with Music Director and
Pastors
- Attend
Worship Planning session in August.
- Purchase
appropriate music as necessary with approval of the Music Director.
- Coordinate
programming or special music for one Christmas Eve service.
- Engage
children in at least one special program per year, coordinating with Music
Director
- Submit budget request to Music Director
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Employed on an annual basis.

Evaluated at least annually by the Pastor,
Personnel Committee, Music Director and the Worship Core.

Resignation notice is to be submitted in writing
to the Music Director and Personnel Committee at least four weeks in advance of
scheduled departure date
COMPENSATION:
-
$10/hr, not to exceed 16 hours per month.
