At Mt. Zion, there is a place in our music ministry for everyone. What a joy and pleasure, no matter your age, persuasion, or voice quality, to sing or play your praise to God!
Cherubs
2 1/2 - 3 years old
This newly formed group will meet on Sunday mornings as a part of the nursery Sunday School class. The children will learn songs about God, Jesus, and Bible characters, play rhythm instruments, move to music and become a part of a group musical experience. As progress in group dynamics is made, children may be graduated into the SONbeams choir program.
SONbeams
4 years old - Kindergarten
The children learn about God and Jesus in their songs, and learn the fundamentals of music by accompanying their songs on rhythm instruments, moving to music, and playing rhythm games. The group sings during worship several times a year.
Junior Choir
Grades 1 - 6
This energetic group of elementary youngsters experience being part of a group, yet retain their individualism. They enjoy fun-packed rehearsals and increase their opportunities to perform in front of people. The choir sings during worship one time per month, and a special musical will be presented on December 24th.
Jubilation
High school & up
This eclectic group, now in its 12th year, sings during worship once a month, at varied worship services. The group sings contemporary, mostly up-beat music, and is open to anyone of high school age and beyond.
Senior Choir
High school & up
The pastors, worship committee, and congregation of Mt. Zion Church have come to count on the Senior Choir to be leaders in our worship of God. This fun-loving, hard-working group meets on Thursday evenings, except during the Lenten season, when rehearsals follow the Wednesday evening worship services. All voice parts are needed! Come to rehearsal and make a joyful noise with us!
Mt Zion Brass
The Mt. Zion Brass plays several times in worship each year. If you play a brass instrument you are invited to join in! Rehearsals are scheduled for the first Sunday of each month following the late worship service and are held in the sanctuary. Please contact Jackie Malone for more information.
