York New American Welcome Center Donations

The local YWCA’S & YMCA’S York New American Welcome Center who help families resettle in our area. They help with English as a second language, with filling out paperwork, schooling and jobs.
We received information that the local Haitian community who arrived in 2021 is in dire need of assistance. They are refugees whose Temporary Protected Status was revoked, which means they lost their ability to work in the USA. Because they are not allowed to work many of their basic needs are not being met.
We would like to collect items during the month of July, so when you shop each week, please pick up a few items to share.
Donations needed:
- Shelf-stable items (rice, beans, and so on);
- Toiletries (shampoo, body lotion, diapers, sanitary supplies);
- Cleaning supplies (dish detergent, laundry soap)
Place donations on the table in back of narthex. Contact Nancy Sleeger at 717-266-4668 with any questions.
