Reverend Amy Northridge

Pastor

The Rev. Amy E. Northridge has been part of the Mt. Zion UCC team since May 2021, serving in various pastoral roles before officially stepping in as the solo settled Pastor in September 2024. She brings a deep love for ministry, a knack for connecting with God’s children of all ages, and just the right amount of holy mischief to keep things interesting.

Before joining Team Mt. Zion, Pastor Amy spent nine years serving as the solo pastor at Christ United Lutheran Parish, where she served both Rohler’s Lutheran Church and Salem Lutheran Church in Dover. Her journey into ministry started sitting in the pews with her parents, siblings, and grandparents each Sunday at Messiah Lutheran Church in Harrisburg. There she was free to ask the many, many faith questions that arose for her and learn a deep appreciation that no matter what was happening in her life, God was always present in it. After obtaining a dual degree in Psychology and Religion from Susquehanna University (because understanding both God and people is important), she continued to earn a Master of Divinity from The Lutheran Theological Seminary in Gettysburg. Pastor Amy earned her dual standing status with the UCC after falling in love with the people of Mt. Zion as our transitional pastor and has a deep appreciate of the UCC’s belief that we do not need to have a uniformed theology to show up at the table with one another and do the holy work of loving our neighbors.

When she’s not preaching, teaching, or brainstorming creative ways to bring faith to life, you’ll likely find her outside enjoying nature, getting lost in an art project, or watching movies. She’s also an amateur detective (or at least she likes to think so) and can often be found solving mysteries, whether in escape rooms, on screen, or solving real life puzzles like where did we last leave that very important thing.

At home, Pastor Amy loves spending time with her husband, Jason, (who is also a pastor serving St. John Lutheran Church in Mt. Wolf—so yes, there’s a lot of theology talk at the dinner table) and their son, Freddie, who keeps them both on their toes. Whether she’s leading worship, diving into deep theological discussions, or quoting Disney movies at unexpected moments, Pastor Amy brings joy, wisdom, and a whole lot of heart to the Mt. Zion community.

"Team Mt. Zion isn’t just a congregation—it is the body of Christ in action. From the moment I first walked through the doors, I knew this was a community filled with love, compassion, and a deep commitment to living out our faith in meaningful ways. Whether we’re worshiping together, serving our neighbors, surrounding one another in prayer, or sharing laughter in fellowship, I am constantly inspired by the heart and dedication of this church. It is a true joy and privilege to walk this journey of faith alongside such an incredible group of people."

"I truly am blessed to be working at Mt. Zion as the people here are so kind, caring, and loving. I felt as if I was a part of their family from the moment I first walked through the doors. I am amazed at the way they reach out to each and every person within the church and within the community and how they make every individual feel welcomed and loved."
