Mr. Cody Messersmith

Worship Music Director

Cody Messersmith is a dynamic music educator, performer, conductor, and inclusivity advocate from the state of Pennsylvania. Cody currently serves as Director of Secondary Choirs for the Spring Grove Area School District in York, Pennsylvania.

Outside of public-school teaching, Cody frequently serves as a guest clinician, vocal coach, and educational consultant for music and musical theatre arts programs. Cody’s primary areas of research interest include identity development, special education, and music’s impact on communicative disorders. Cody is currently pursuing a PhD in Music Education at Temple University. Cody earned a Master of Education degree from Penn State University, and a Bachelor of Music degree from Marywood University (Scranton, PA).

Cody resides in York, Pennsylvania with his partner, Carly, and three furbabies, Benji, Bernard, and Rue.
